TRASHCAN LACROSSE WINTER PROGRAM @ EPISCOPAL ACADEMY
In today’s youth lacrosse world, many players spend so much time playing games that the fundamental skills necessary to be successful at the higher levels are not being taught. Through Innovative Drills, Progressive Skill Work and Trashcan Lacrosse, the directors of the Winter Program @ Episcopal Academy will teach your son the fundamentals of lacrosse.  This an 8 week program in which players will be working on stick skills, shooting, dodging, defensive footwork, and goalie positioning.   In addition to a strong emphasis on skill development, players will be working on the 2 v 1 situation which we believe is one of the crucial skills of lacrosse. There will be Trashcan Lacrosse tournaments at every age level with winners being crowned with new helmets and gear!

WINTER PROGRAM AT EPISCOPAL ACADEMY

11:30am -  1:00pm   Young Guns  I Skill Development Program                        U-11

This program will focus heavily on developing good stick skills. Wall Ball and partner passing progression will help the players understand the importance of stick skills. In addition to this focus on stick skills, players will be learning the fundamentals of shooting which means young goalies will see lots of shots. Of course we will be playing a ton of Trashcan Lacrosse as well.

1:00pm -  2:30pm   Young Guns II Skill Development Program                          U-13

The program will continue to focus on stick skills and shooting but players will also start learning dodging and defensive footwork. Players will not only play a lot of Trashcan Lacrosse but will also participate in progressive drills to start developing their skills in controlled situations that can be found in any high school lacrosse game!

2:30pm -   4:00pm  Young Guns Elite Lacrosse Program                             U-15

This program is designed for the elite youth player. This program will be a variation of a high school practice revolving around skill development. Stick skills, shooting, defensive footwork, dodging, and goalie play will all be developed.  Players will not only enjoy some Trashcan Lacrosse, but will also play some full field house games to demonstrate this development in real situations. Players need to understand that this is an intense 90 minute practice for players who want to develop more advanced skills.

This program will be held in the spacious and brand new Episcopal Academy Fieldhouse. This is the ONLY indoor facility centrally located in the area with more than 3 full basketball courts of space !
